The video and audio should play without error on windows media player, quicktime, powerdvd, or winamp as well as others.

If the video does not play or if it freezes that means you either don't have a DVD codec installed, or the one you do have is old and out of date, don't worry this fix is simple.

DVD is mpeg 2 so the first thing you do (Windows) is click start then control panel then add remove programs.

Remove your player and any codecs or codec packs that are installed

Go to Microsoft.com or appl e.com and download the latest windows media player or quicktime be sure you download a version that playes DVD, for quicktime that is a second download, windows medi a player usually includes a dvd codec

re-install the player and you should be able to play the video just fine. These players are both free as are the DVD Codecs.

Ipod video is high quality H.264, the fil e sizes are much smaller because the actual screen size is smaller. These require a special codec (mpeg 4, H.264) to play on windows or on apple. They play fine on video ipod with no additional software.
